Orlando Bloom dying is reason enough for me to see this.

Was anybody else filled with when he died jumping out of the helicopter in Black Hawk Down?

Yeah, that would be funny to see them at the voodoo woman's cot...

"Ya must travel ta tha end o' tha world, if ya wish ta save young Turner's life..."

Sparrow:
"I don't know about you lads, but I've had my fill of adventures, you savvy?"

Mrs. Turner (or Swann, if they ever get married)
"But... You were supposed to not pass up on those rights moments, where you could do good!"

The crew:
"Shut it!"

Although he doesnt add much to the story or the acing stake sit would be a shame to kill him off as the 3 of them just go together (dare i say it but you would always have luke han and leila!) And whats this about cutting costs - the movies make so much money they cant be strapped for cash. Maybe its a case of eyes bigger than belly!
Maybe they should do a one man show with just jack sparrow - now that woudl make a lot of women very happy.

I have mixed feelings about them killing off Bloom. Sure he's defnately the weakest character in the movies, but the plot for one and two did sort of have him firmly near the center. The original was about him going after Elizabeth with Jack along for the ride, the second one, well it was Jck Sparrow movie but it did feature a lot of Will and his father. And it sounds like the third movie will also feature a fair bit of him. Oh well will have to wait and see. What I find amusing is that they never mentioned a fourth one until Dead Man's Chest did phenomenally well at the Box Office. I'm not complaining, I think they're brilliant movies and can't see why the critics hated the second one. It was great fun and in my eyes even better than the original.

A Pirates of the Carribean movie only needs one character to pull in a solid box, and that's Jack Sparrow.

I am a huge fan of Pirates of the Carribean movies probably more then the average person, i can't say exactly how i feel since the 3rd one is still months away but, the news on a possible 4th for some reason is shocking to me despite the amount of money they are raking in. I do think however to do away with bloom's character they should do away with knightley's character too. I dont have a problem with her but i think it would be better to do away with both of them instead of just one and have ol' johnny get into trouble with some other people all together and leave the Turner's in peace, through two movies you are use to seeing one and then the other it might be a bit weird to see Elizabeth with Jack and Will either dead or just moved on with his life even though they are in "love" but thats just my opinion.

Oh yeah and POTC: DMC...Rocked face especially as far as sequals go no way they messed up the third one... Johnny probably wouldnt had approved and im sure atleast someone learned from the Matrix debacle.

I don't know if killing off Will is as safe an idea as they think...I know a heck of a lot of 13-18 year old girls who see the Pirate movies for the sole purpose of seeing Orlando's shirt half open.

Second, no, because that really happened to a soldier in the battle.

I think the 4th adventure must be without Bloom and Knightley because Sparrow needs a totally new story without those "supporting" characters.

Can't they just let it die at the 3rd movie? 4 seems a little too much like exploitation.

I want to see Bloom's character actually DO someth
Will Turner is one of those strait-laced characters with the potential to be much more interesting and fun than he is... I'd really love to see that character explored a bit more, so unless that happens in 3 (and if they decide on a 4th), I hope they don't kill him off. I'd be really disappointed if they don't do anything with that potential (either by killing him off or by simply maintaining the status quo). Maybe it's the writer in me, but I hate it when main characters like Will Turner - who aren't much at first glance besides a plot device - are left to unimportance.

I'll agree she LOOKS awesome.
But she just annoys me when she acts, most of the time. Just like Orlando does.
I thought DMC was great, but any time it wasn't centered on Sparrow, I was getting impatient for it to get back around to that part of the story.

YES. The first two made lots of cash. Doesn't matter what the third one does, there is a built in audience so there will be a fourth, fifth, two prequels, a remake, Joel Schumacher will make a few crappy ones, it will die, then some young hot shot at the studio will breathe life into it again by making it into a reality TV program.

Gotta love how Hollywood thinks.

Okay,I think they should keep Orlando in,Johnny makes the movie yes but Orlando had that edge you need, them togetter are perfect,Keira is very good and all but if your going to kick anyone off kick her off,and if you kick Orlando off kick Keira two so it can be just Johnny getting in to troble and meeting new people,it would just be weird with Johnny and Keria togetter, but whatever you do dont get rid of Pintel and Regettie!!!!!

Ok.. here's my opinion. I loved the transition of stories between Pirates 1, and Pirates 2. A new plot.. it was nice. For the third one, we all knew that it would be a continuation. I was ok about that. But now.. with this whole Will thing (if you've seen the new one..) the writers either have to cut off that tale, or keep it going in another movie, which I think would be too much, but they already gotten themselves into it by not giving us a conclusion to him being the captain of the Flying Dutchman. I think Elizabeth needs to go and do her own thing, and Will his, and it needs to be Jack and Barbossa battling something out, but nothing like the first film. Somewhere in the movie, have Will and Elizabeth reappear, maybe to bore us with corny loves scenes for the fifth movie, if so be one. I don't think it's necessary to have Will in another film after we get the conclusion to the third, but how many young, Jesse McCartney loving pre-teens go JUST to see Orlando Bloom? Then to have their hopes and dreams crushed by those nausiation lovey dovey moments with him and Knightley. I could see where people get off on the thought of killing him off or something, but come on, lots of people watch the movies to see what happens with Jak, Will, and Elizabeth. And now, again, Barbossa.

I don't know. That's just my opinion.
I love all three movies. The last two were too long, though. And the cliffhanger at the end of the new one.. well.. maybe it was nice for Jack, but they should've just told us what happened to Will and get it over with.. maybe bring him back in a fifth.

:)
