Ms. Swann Leaving the "Pirates" Nest?
by Scott Weinberg | November 14, 2006
Discuss Article
With "Pirates of the Carbbean: At Worlds End" being primed for its summertime release, the actors are now sharing their thoughts on the future of the series. And as far as Keira Knightley is concerned, she seems fine with moving on when the trilogy ends.

From IGN Movies: "I've been playing this girl since I was 17," Keira Knightley advised The Daily Mail on the set of her new film, Atonement.

"I'm 21 now and I'm onto very different things, but it's fun to try to invest Elizabeth [Swann] with some rebellious spirit," she continued. "But what I'm doing in Atonement is very different. I mean, she is a grown-up woman!"

The Mail reports that Knightley "has told the movie's producers that she doesn't want to participate in any further sequels."
--

...which means the producers would have to go out and find another lovely young actress. Shouldn't be too difficult.

Keira shivers me timbers =P

She was good as Elizabeth, but they'll be able to find someone else, however I don't think another sequel after World's End is necessary.....

I agree. Pirates was getting repetitive during the second movie.

Well, since Dead Man's Chest wasn't actually very good, I see this as an okay thing.

2 sequels is already more than enough for any movie, making a third or more is just ridiculous and i hope depp and bloom (at least depp, i dont really care about bloom) don't sign on for any more pirates sequels.

I'm glad Keira is looking for more adult roles. I think the special effects of pirates actually overshadow her great acting abilities

The second sucked. I will catch the third at the second run theater. After that, I am done. No fourth for me, or Bloom, or Knightley. As for Depp, he already said, in an article posted on this website, that he would beinterested in playing Sparrow more as long as the scripts are good enough. After the second, I would have decided not to continue.

After Knightley leaves, the entire cast of "Pirates of the Carribbean" will be women. I kid I kid, she's beautiful.

Yep, 2nd one stunk. Knightley is a good actress I hope she gets some good roles.

Pirates should end after World's End. If it continues it is purely for money (they filmed the 2nd/3rd at the same time) and although the I love a good pirate movie, I think it's about run its course.

If Depp wants to make more movies as Jack Sparrow I'm down, but I wouldn't put it under the "Pirates" banner, maybe just a movie called, "The Legend of Jack Sparrow", or something. Dunno what it'd be about, but Johnny makes a damn good pirate.

well, to be honest, I never cared for the first Pirates. It was way too long for what it was, just like the King Kong remake.

The series should end after the third one anyway. Honestly, I'm tired of this 'quadrilogy' bug that's been going around the Hollywood scene.

the first one was good and had some really enjoyable moments, the second one lost what made the first film so fun so yeah it sucked and i don't expect this one to be any better.............good job for keria knightly though, she is a beautiful actress with lots of talent, she really does have to move on to something else

If you are in a hit movie, keep making sequels as
These actors who leave hit movie series and TV shows are crazy. I say keep making them as long as they offer you the money. Look at Michael Keaton. He gave up hundres of millions of dollars leaving the Batman franchise and now his career is in the crapper. Great actor but a Herby movie with Lindsay Lohan??? That sucked!!! White Noise was another piece of shit. Did he get blacklisted in Hollywood??? I hear rumors that he pissed off big movie execs because when he left the original Batman movie series the studio lost hundreds of millions on the next two sequels particulary Batman and Robin. Johnny Depp would be smart to keep milking Jack Sparrow for as long as possible. He can still make his indie artistic movies and live comfortably off of the commercial stuff.

She's too old for films that gross a billion dollars? Oh well, I still love you Keira. Maybe they can get Kate Beckinsale.
