anything to dumb down an already simplistic series, which is the point

The first was silly, but it was also intellegent which is what made it good.

The second was just awful, aside from the brilliant seen where Orlando Bloom must get the key or map or whatever it was from underneath Davey Jone's beard of tentacles without waking him, some of the best use of CGI Iv'e ever seen. Other than that, the film felt pointless and written at the last minute

I think the fight scenes are what stand out in the Pirate movies. Like the battle between Will, Jack, and Norrington on top of that giant wheel was siiiiiick.

Yeah grossing a billion + worldwide defineatly seems like the it was written at the last minute, if it is a young jack then the flashback will probably be essential to understad something or to show a reason for why he does something its a bloody pirates movie its meant to be fun and it achieves that why do people look so far into it?

well this is new i read one of the potenial scripts for the movie a while back(it was a bout 2/3 off one) and it wasnt in that one so mabe young jack is at the end or in a rewrite. all the recent photos seem to back that script up.

obviously the second one was rushed a little but i think the 3rd one will be way better since it will have more of normal story line. not as much at the box office tho with shrek and spidey there abouts next year. this year there was cr** all for big films in the summer.

superman sucked except for the bullet to the eye scene.

I really liked Pirates 1. As Mikeal420 said, it was well-done popcorn entertainment, complete with intelligent and witty dialogue. Plus, it had Depp doing what he does best.

And although the production design and effects in Pirates 2 were some of the best I'd ever seen, the screenwriters really dropped the ball. The story is a mess and the characters don't retain their charm(their motivations in the second film are all selfish . . . which must be amusing for the writers, but not the audience). This, despite a good effort from the lead ensemble.

I enjoy the increased focus on Sparrow's character, but he needs better foils than Will and Elizabeth. Bloom and Knightley were fine in the first film, but that should've been the close of their story. The franchise hinges on Captain Jack . . . and frankly I'd like to see the filmmakers pair him up with more distinct personalities(Clive Owen, Kathy Bates, Paul Giamatti, Hugo Weaving, Ed Norton, etc.)

omg why did they just make number 1 and then leave the series alone the second one was crap........and i haven't seen air bud and i haven't even heard of air buddies and i don't think alot of people have (i don't think) but whatever i still don't think that they should have a young jack sparrow.....that would almost be as pointless as the poltrigiest remake

Wasn't there news about Jack Sparrow's father being in the 3rd one? If that's so then the situation will probably be: Jack sees his dad, someone asks Jack who it is later or why he left him or some other similar question, then we have a flashback with Jack as a kid and his dad probably being a prick or something of the like.

Wow, the "plot-twists" in this one could be unraveling faster than DMC's did.

And from how it seems seeing Jack as a kid will probably kill some of the mystique of the character...Of course I could be completely wrong on all accounts but, well, we'll call this my crazy theory.

"Air Buddies" star doing an imitation of Johnny Depp doing an imitation of the character he played in the first Pirates movie... give me a break!
