Total Recall: Gerard Butler's Best Movies

Summary

The rest of the heavy hitters Hollywood has planned for us in 2012 are being stored away until later in December, but Gerard Butler can't wait -- he's back in theaters this weekend with his latest rom-com, Playing for Keeps. Although its Tomatometer fate can probably be guessed by the fact that it isn't being screened for critics, don't feel too badly for Butler -- his filmography has plenty of critical highlights to fall back on, and this week's list offers proof. From period drama to family-friendly fantasy and bone-crunching action, he's stayed plenty busy over the last 15 years and change -- and now it's time to pay tribute, Total Recall style! I've been a fan of Butler's for years and have seen most of the movies on the list. While there are more talented actors, I do believe Butler's desire to entertain audiences and genuine likeability will always make him an audience favorite. He may never win an Oscar, but neither have many others who sells tons of movie tickets.

My favorite films of Gerard Butler are Phantom of the Opera, Dear Frankie, and Dracula 2000. He seems to be a loose cannon, not very predictible in picking good films to appear in. An actor just can't be good in every role even though their ego says they can do anything.

I know many people who don't, what's sad is the user ratings.

Coriolanus has a 58% user rating, 300 has a 90%. And this is why everyone considers the user ratings to be absurd most of the time.

I don't care how many "stinkers" he makes, I love the guy and look forward to whatever he does.

Why, may I ask, is Coriolanus not here? Or Phantom of the Opera?(If I were Butler I would begin to have paranoid fantasies that someone was out to get me. Do your job people--actually review his work!

The total recall is for an actor whose movie comes out that weekend, not some award ceremony or something.

Um no hands down his best movies are P.S. I Love You and of course the best "The Phantom Of The Opera". I have been an avid fan of his sense 2004 and its sad to say that he's not doing so well in Hollywood. I sure hope things turn out better for him

Um, just saw Dear Frankie and I loved him in this. It was absolutely magical. PS I love you was ruined by the poor chemistry between hilary swank and Gerard. I need to see some more of his action flicks.
