Director Frank Capra's last feature film, Pocketful of Miracles is a Technicolor remake of his 1933 film Lady for a Day. A barely recognizable Bette Davis plays Apple Annie, the besotted, unkempt, rag-clad street vendor who controls the activities of all the beggars on Broadway. Capra's last movie--a lot better than given credit for
A painful experience, particularly considering the source (director: Frank Capra)
Franks Capra's last movie is a affectionate comedy drama about an aging apple-seller who passes herself off as a woman of wealth in order to impress her daughter. Wonderful performances (Peter Falk was nominated for an Oscar) is somewhat undone by film's extreme 136min length.
