Consensus: Critics say that the third Pokemon movie has a better plot than its two predecessors. This is not enough, however, to recommend it to those not already fans of the franchise.

Synopsis: POKÉMON 3: The Movie, the third full-length animated feature based on the popular Japanese cartoon series (adapted for American audiences by producer Norman Grossfeld and director Michael Haigney)... POKÉMON 3: The Movie, the third full-length animated feature based on the popular Japanese cartoon series (adapted for American audiences by producer Norman Grossfeld and director Michael Haigney) presents an intriguing blend of fast-paced adventure and fantasy. Young pokémon trainer Ash and his traveling companions arrive at the idyllic town of Greenfield, where they encounter five-year-old Molly, a lonely little girl whose parents have disappeared into another dimension inhabited by the Unown. These cryptic hieroglyphic-shaped pokémon are able to read the minds of humans and make their dreams become reality. With the help of the Unown, Molly's overactive imagination has spawned a bizarre dream world complete with a crystal tower of gigantic proportions and a mighty guardian pokémon to do her bidding. After fighting their way inside Molly's refuge, Ash's loyal pokémon pals and the Unown finally clash in a splashy computer-enhanced showdown. As in the first and second Pokémon movie installments, an animated short precedes the main feature: In PIKACHU AND PICHU, everyone's favorite yellow electric pokémon encounters the playful Pichu brothers during a trip to the big city, along with a host of colorful new pokémon first introduced in Pokémon Gold and Silver for the Nintendo Game Boy. Reviews for Pokémon the Movie 3
Too little, too late for the phenomenon to gain a second wind, or for it to make converts out of any Pokémon haters.
Creepy, yes, and confusing as heck, but not half so fearsome as the three little words ('Until next time!') spoken by whom I don't recall.
Surprisingly inert and rather boring, at least for anyone who doesn't collect the related cards.
Even little trainer's pet Pikachu appears to have seen it all before.
A loud, claustrophobic movie packed with artificial colours and characters whose weapons are rockets of debilitating spew they summon at will from their throats.
This adult found it somewhere between mind-blowing and headache-inducing.
The kids will be served exactly the same sort of thing they got before -- fancy fluff.
