When this beautiful New Orleans card shark rides a train to King City, she promises to shake up the lives of nearly everyone who lives in the one-horse town. Along with her protective cousin, John, Alice enters a world populated by bounty hunters, killers, whores and pimps. She wins a brothel to rival the one owned by kingfish Jake Sears. Not all the prostitutes like her, though, so she must rely on brawn as much as bluff to set them straight. Alice later meets a ruggedly good-looking bounty hunter named Collins. This fine cowpoke, she learns, is actually on the run from the bloodthirsty Baker, the very desperado Collins has been assigned to bring in. Regardless of this threat, Alice does not lose her cool -- and never will. [More]
