Movie Info

The PRC western Prairie Rustlers answers for once and for all the nagging question: Is Billy Carson (Buster Crabbe), aka Billy the Kid, actually the Billy the Kid? It turns out that Carson has a lookalike cousin (also played by Crabbe) who is a no-good outlaw. When the bad cousin kills a man, Carson is charged with the murder. Busting out of jail, Carson, aided by his saddle pal Fuzzy Q. Jones (Al St. John) proves his innocence and forces his cousin to account for himself. Released in November of 1945,Prairie Rustlers didn't land a New York playdate until the spring of 1946.more
