Premutos - Der gefallene Engel (1999)
German filmmaker Olaf Ittenbach, whose low-budget splatter epics have won him a worldwide cult following, directed and stars in this gory and ambitious shocker. Premutos was the first fallen angel whose evil spirit has been walking the Earth in a variety of hosts since the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. When a man (Ittenbach) finds a book on Premutos and begins to read it aloud, he unwittingly brings the demon back to Earth, who not only takes over the unfortunate gentleman's body, but then brings an army of the dead back to life to do his murderous bidding. Premutos: Lord of the Living Dead also features Anke Fabre, Ingrid Fischer, and Fidelilis Atuma. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi … More

Critic Reviews for Premutos - Der gefallene Engel
To classify this movie as gory would be to describe Anna Nicole Smith as 'slightly obnoxious'. There are sequences in Premutos that would put a seasoned coroner off his lunch.
Premutos is full of severed heads, traumatized testicles, and a generally blasphemous perspective on history.
Audience Reviews for Premutos - Der gefallene Engel
I decided to give director Ittenbach one more try after seeing The Burning Moon to see if he could improve at all as a director as he has with his FX work...
Nope, not one bit. However it should be said that I'm not sure if I can entirely blame Ittenbach since the English dubbing courtesy of Shock-O-Rama Cinema is so atrocious and distracting that it should be criminal. So it looks like I'll have to watch ANOTHERone before I can write him off altogether.
Young guy Mathias(Olaf Ittenbach)has visions of a fallen angel,Premutos wreaking havoc thorough the ages. His stepfather Walter(Christopher Stacey)unearths an ancient book of evil and when Mathias read it he is transformed into Premutos.Raising an army of zombies,Premutos gatecrashes Walter's birthday party and all hell breaks loose."Premutos-The Fallen Angel" clearly plays homage to classic horror films like "The Evil Dead","Dawn of the Dead" or "Scanners".There is an incredible amount of blood and gore-this film easily ranks up with Peter Jackson's "Braindead".The 30 minute climax is amazing-non stop gore and slaughter. We have a glorious kill count of 139 here and they are seemingly all shown. There is also pretty nice sex scene added for a good measure.Highly recommended.More
