A Modern Twain Story: The Prince and the Pauper Reviews
March 2, 2009
It was a good movie. Not at all like the book in on many levels - But, I will say it was funny, cute, the names were inventive in Edward's case and true in Tom's, & I think we still got some of the main points of the book.
It was not a word for word remake or full of blood and sorrow, it was just good, clean fun, and I like that a lot.
SPOILER:I like the Miles from the book, but at least this guy looks like the Miles in my mind.

It's a little bit corny but well.

What a stinker! I know I'm not in the demographic that this particular
production was intended for but when a production has a masterpiece
(Twain's original)to work from for structure, how can it go so badly?
Was the Director, James Quattrochi, doing anything or are the two boys
(Dylan and Cole Sprouse) so difficult to work with that he gave up?

The start is long. Not a bad movie, it's been done before.

Did we really need another retelling of the Mark Twain classic? Appartantly so. This film was really bad in both performances and it failed to enthrall me.

Close call for me. I admire the performances, but it's too predictable to recommend it.

The appallingly bad performances by the Sprouses kills the film. It is not a good film anyway, silly and amateurish. I hate to see classic stories mutilated beyond recognition. Stupid kids stuff.
