Audience Reviews for Prison Heat

There have been WIP (women in prison) films since the 1970's with the names Caged Heat, Chained Heat, and Red Heat, how did it take until 1993 for someone to think up Prison Heat?? One of life's little mysteries.

All the right elements are in place for this WIP exploitation: the falsely accused young & pretty American tourists, the evil warden, the shower scenes, the idiot guards, the badass lesbian lifer, the rape scenes, the brutal revenge. Rebecca Chambers is effective as the leader of our quartet of heroines who won't back down to protect her friends and demand justice, and the real belle of the bail bond is Playboy pinup Lori Jo Hendrix. Baffling to learn that she is unhappy with how she looked in this film because she is the one & only true knockout, and playing the most innocent of the girls only increases her appeal. Uri Gavriel is exceedingy creepy as the cruel warden, in fact clouding some of the titillation with too much menace when he's involved. B-movie vet Toni Naples has never been Meryl Streep, but here she seems most interested on collecting a paycheck. All told, a solid genre entry with better acting than required and rewindable scenes with Miss LJH.
