I really hate how critics dislike of darker subject matter translates to lower scores. Seeing something like "...but it may be to dark for some audiences" really bothers me. After all the reviews have been submitted, I'm predicting the audience likes the movie 10% or plus, more than the tomatometer

I'll say 85-90%. But my favorite "revenge film" of all time is still Oldboy, and I doubt it will ever be topped. It's because the unambiguous message is the uselessness of revenge. This movie looks like it'll be one of those faux-sophisticated ambivalent stories, where we are supposed to hate, yet sympathize with the protagonist's actions. Sorry, not for me, not even in this situation. Also why I anticipate Spike Lee's Oldboy will almost certainly miss the core message of Park's film. Oh well, off topic but I harbor severe doubts about the message of this movie.
