WOW, I didn't know that was Melissa Leo until I just read it right now. She was amazing. I wonder if she will get a nod. She was really creepy.

Melissa Leo deserves a nomination for here turn here. Wasn't a fan of The Fighter or her wining that one but she was great in this an absolutely amazing performance, the kind that just don't come around to often

I agree. All of the main cast was kinda weird. Like Gyllenhaal with his facial tics, it's like, "look at me I'm really doing something special with this character, ain't I great?" I think they were all trying too hard. Thinking of Oscar instead of just trying to make a good movie.

Overly dramatic. It alternates from characters who are semi-catatonic and morose, to shrill and hysterical. Okay Jackman, you do have a very loud voice! Decent as a mystery to be solved, but just too much on the histrionics. You could cut 20 minutes of that junk out of the film.

No, he doesn't. His character was totally one dimensional and boring. I'm surprised he even took this boring role. Jake was much more impressive.

Something which has nothing to do with acting. The character of Forest Gump was also not very interesting, but Tom Hanks won an oscar.

Also, have not seen the movie, but how much you wanna bet the term "one dimensional" is being used without actually knowing what it means in regards to characterization, and instead is just being used as justification to rag on a well liked movie?
