Secondly, come the awkward kids, who detest the prom and can't imagine anything worse than attending it. Filmmaker Hali Lee attended her prom in Kansas City, and falls into the latter camp. However, having hated the experience, she subsequently became fascinated by it in her post-high school days, and decided to make this movie on the subject. Returning to Kansas to speak to a number of potential prom attendees, Lee gleans some interesting and amusing observations on the ritual from a diverse selection of subjects.
