Why everybody expect that scientist must be very wise? They are knowlegeable and (mostly) inteligent but also make mistakes or they invented dangerous things (nuclear bombs etc.).

Yes, I like that it was not a crew of Wesley Crushers that pulled the answers out of their proverbial arses at every turn!

Matt Neal: Your watching an unfinished product. This was was undoubtedly cut down by atleast 30-40 minutes to fit the "general" audience. The whole SHAW thing that i KNOW your referring too will surely be more explained in the Dir's Cut. That or think about what she walked into and WHY maybe she didn't feel it was relevant (SINCE EVERYONE IN THAT ROOM KNEW ANYWAY) Hence they look at her, her stitches etc, and they get over it on move onto business. And yes there are many questions, but one can answer many of them if you pay close attention. Also there is a fact that this was designed to be written with a squeal. And that is the best way to leave yourself room for writing it so your not stuck on following an absurd plot point.

I like that it did NOT answer all the questions by the end of the movie. Reminds me of classic science fiction novels such as "Rendezvous With Rama".

Thank you! Idiots want everything spoon fed to them, not realizing there will be sequels to this. I have not seen this yet though

Its not so much that they didn't answer any questions, its that by the time it was over I didn't care if they answered them or not. As for scientists, the 'come here lil fella' bit was just downright laughable. NOT groundbreaking sci-fi ideas!

The problem I have with the movie is that it contradicts the ALIEN RACE known as Xenomorphs. Now, Xenomorphs have been around longer than even Humans, and that was established in the Dark Horse Comics, Movie Sequels, and Preator movies. Ridley Scott took his own creation and contradicted it with the rest of the franchise. If you watch Predator 2, you can see an Alien Skull in the movie and the timeline is set before 21st century...and in Prometheus the timeline is set 2092? Okay so timeline contradict...Alien and Predators have been at war for ages. This movie would tick of any fan that knows the origins of the Xenomorphs.

What Ridley should of done was Taken the Xeno-Snakes and have them evolve into exnomorphs. This is what happens when a director who was once young becomes old and forgetful at something he had perfected so well...Too many plotholes.

OMG man... Even Scott himself said that the stupid Predator timeline has NOTHING to do with this. All of the AVP movies made NO sense if you look at the timeline. They even ignored the 1st AVP when they did the sequel and requiem. This is Alien... not predator. And Ridley didnt have a damn thing to do with the Predator or avp movies. There are absolutely NO references to the Xeno's origin on any of the 4 movies. What you are seeing in this is how the aliens were possibly genetically manipulated. Predator's? Well they could even address that in a sequel they could have been another pet project of the Space Jockey's. As you can see the pred's have obviously taken some of the SJ's prior technology and manipulated it. You can see their size is similar, however not as intelligent as the SJ's, their strength seems about equal. The first thing ANYONE should do before seeing this movie is FORGET EVERYTHING YOU EVER SAW IN A PREDATOR MOVIE!! lolol

Ridley Scott has always despised the AVP franchise. And why wouldnt he? They took an incredible movie and combined it was some 80's Schwarzenegger garbage. Yea they are both aliens woohoo. Would you want someone to combine Wizard of Oz with Snow White just because they both involve short people?

My biggest question is why were many of the characters total idiots who did mind-blowingly stupid things? The answers I've gotten look desperate and unsatisfying.

Weyland must have put up a "Help Wanted" sign next to Jason Voorhees cabin.
