Critic Review - Wall Street Journal

This tale of an interstellar search asks cosmic questions about the meaning of life, but comes up with lame answers in a script that screams attention-deficit disorder.

I've gotta say, this dude has said some pretty ignorent comments about some real good films. Sometimes I believe this guy will rag films just to get the controversy going. I'm gonna check this film out anyway judge for myself I suggest anyone do the same, please don't take this particular critic too seriously.

He's a film critic for the Wall Street Journal, how could you really take him seriously. To be honest I don't take any of them seriously - it's not a real job and just because they are critics for papers/websites etc I won't presume they have good taste or know what they are talking about.

Then why visit Rottentomatoes, a site that is made to aggregate reviews from everyone? Just seems like you're wasting your time being here...

The movie had too many plot holes, and it contradicts with the Xenomorph Race. How can you state that Humans or the Creators had an involvement in creating the Alien Race (Xenomorphs)...theyve been around longer than humans. It would of made more scene having the Snakes be the XENOMORPH RACE, exposed to black liquid, evolve and turn on its creator to create itself. Movie ugh...pisses me off soo much!

This guy is one of the worst critics on RT! He just seems to hate everything & as irishncklez said is very ignorant of everything too! Take anything he writes with a grain of salt.

this guy needs to get canned, so fox news can hire him. i'm sure if it was grumpy old men he would have been able to relate better.

Majority of answers to subjects like "The meaning of life" will be simple and lame if your looking at realistically. If it was some over the top answer you would be sitting there going "NOPE!! THIS IS WRONG!! SOOOOO UNREALISTIC!!!"

Sorry to stray off the subject but does anyone else think Joe looks like Melvin before he changed into the Toxic Avenger??? Just sayin'!...

As the space between Sci-Fi and reality shrinks year after year, it's easy to understand why all the Grumpy Old Men can't manage to get on board.

The movie asks the big questions that we still to this day don't have answers to. And to attempt to answer them would simply be pompous. Listen to Todd W I really couldn't have worded it better.

Absolutely agree. At least one can rely on Joe Morgenstern to provide an accurate review. This movie is awful...the script is lame, the cast is boring or annoying and the assumptions in the story make no sense (eg. These beings made us humans...what was that based on??). Only thing going for it are the special effects.

I absolutely agree. The movie contradicted with the FIRST ALIEN MOVIE. XENOMORPH RACE WA SNOT CREATED BY HUMANS...it was an experiment or accidental either....stupid bullshit story makes me so mad!!
