Sunny becomes an instant celebrity and national hero, gracing magazine covers and headlines throughout the nation. All this attention gets noticed by D.C. beauracrats, and they hurry to Sunny's side, eager to use her as a political pawn in an American negotiation with the powerful Emir. In exchange for Sunny's promise to marry the Emir, the United States will be permitted to build a military base in the strategically located nation. Sunny is fooled into taking a job in the protocol department, naively believing that she is qualified. She diligently navigates her new life on the inside of the political machine until the Emir and his entourage come to town and Sunny takes them out for a night on the town in her old stomping ground, with riotous results. Finally, Sunny is shipped off to the Emir's palace unaware that she has been set up and is about to become a Middle Eastern queen.
