Joe Pesci did good acting , but the direction and the script wasn't that great .

Searching for something to watch in the summer, when nothing is on, but The Public Eye turned out to be an interesting movie. Particularly liked the attention to detail in the architecture, autos, clothing, etc.

Excellent take on the film noir genre from the point of view of a scandal mag paparazzi photographer. Pesci superbly plays the grubby photographer in way over his head and dodging bullets left and right and always coming out just ahead. Deserved a far higher profile and appreciation than it ever received theatrically.

"Now everybody, have you heard
If you're in the game, then the stroke's the word
Don't take no rhythm, don't take no style
Got a thirst for killin' - grab your vial... "
First person to name that song will get an invisible bowl of rice.
This movie is guaranteed to be horrible so here is some Billy Squire for your amusement:

This was a gorgeous-looking film noir with great performances by Pesci and Hershe. The film has a good "tabloid" like feel with great sets and colors.

Seriously underrated noir with a great performance by Pesci. This film really needs, and is really deserving of a DVD release!

Gorgeous-looking film noir with great performances by Pesci and Hershey (who is *beautiful* in this.) The film has a good "tabloid" like feel with great sets and colors. Definitely worth a look.
