Whether you take the old-school method of scary horror or the modern self-referential approach, it fails miserably on both accounts.

An... The independent republic of Chechnya is reeling from the Russian invasions. The war-torn land has suffered plenty, but now the Chechens face a foe more terrifying than the Russian troops. An American cargo plane carrying top secret experiments is shot down unleashing a genetically enhanced living weapon, a slithering python of enormous size. Making short work of a team of Russian scientists the gigantic snake is poised to destroy and devour the leftovers in Chechnya that the war didn't devastate. This straight-to-video sequel to the 57-foot long snake's first screen appearance can be interpreted as having many political overtones. Whether viewing the film as an indictment of America's hand in global destruction or an antiwar statement or a cautionary tale about genetic engineering, those seeking deeper meaning in their horror and science fiction tales have ample material to work with here. The creepy creature effects also allow the film to function on a literal level for people who simply desire the need to be frightened by gigantic reptilian monsters. [More]

...I expected every minute for commercials to pop up. They would have relieved the monotony.
criticizing a film called "Python," much less "Python 2," is one of those things that thirty-year-olds wearing felt and living in their mothers' basements do
