And the Bond 22 Villain Is...
Friedman calls Mathieu Amalric "a done deal."
by Jeff Giles | November 19, 2007

It still doesn't have an official title, but if you believe Roger Friedman of FOXNews, the next Bond movie has found its villain.

In a column posted Friday, Friedman says Mathieu Amalric -- currently earning raves for his portrayal of Elle editor Jean-Dominique Bauby in The Diving Bell and the Butterfly -- will be facing off against Daniel Craig in Bond 22. Though no formal announcement has been made, Friedman calls it "a done deal," so take a look at 007's next archenemy:

Goldeneye, far and away...superior. i still wish it was more "bond" than "bourne" though. it just seems Craig isn't the protype for bond in my opinion. he's more regular action star, not a specific character...

Goldeneye sucked, Casino Royale was by far the best bond with Goldfinger in second. Gimy you are a retard for thinking that Bronsons Bond was good.

That guy will be a SOLID villian. Brosnan is just seemed too pretty and not hard enough for my tastes in Bond. He stacks up with Roger Moore, but Danial Craig is much more like Sean Connery in my opinion. Casino Royale might just be in my top two. The foot chase scene was awesome and they even mixed in the original car. How can you not like that?

anyone else think we missed out on something great by not casting Brosnan in a Bond movie. Most violent Bond movie ever.

RE BrianInSD:

That's the problem with the 'scream like a girl when hearing foxnews in a sentence' crowd. Your lives ARE steered by the (mainstream) media.

PS, Goldeneye was a great Bond movie - since it's been brought up...

"BRONSON was the guy in the Death Wish movies"

Charles Bronson and Pierce Bronson aren't the same person.

Hey calm down people! Goldeneye and Casino Royale are both good movies, and both are at the higher end of the spectrum when it comes to Bond movies. Brosnan wasn't a bad Bond, it's just that every movie he was in after Goldeneye was horrible. Yeah Craigs Bond was much rougher around the edges than past Bonds, but that was kind of the point I thought. The new Bond series is kind of a reboot, and will showcase Bonds transition from a government thug to a sophisticated spy.

Oh and the new bad guy looks short. Kinda looks like a European Bud Bundy.

This is the most ignorant statement I've ever heard. FOX News is the leading cable news market in the US. If anything's mainstream, it's them.

That said, Amalric is a terrific actor, and if he is indeed the villain in 22, it'll definitely be great.
