Comes across like a 2-hour wedding video done by the world's worst cameraman with a few overly dramatic moments shoehorned in to allow the cast to flex their acting muscles.
Those who applaud are unable to appreciate crap. Hand held camera. (I used to have a Keystone 8mm that took better shots.) Actors who are inaudible and an improvised look and sound. I am a long time movie buff who can give you the names of all of those character actors that made movies great. Yet,for the first time in decades of movie going, I walked out. Undoubtedly many will think it very chic to praise this embarrassment to those in film making.

I agree completely. You hear about people disliking a movie so much that they walk out and I never believed I would feel that way until I saw Rachel Getting Married. Terrible filming, horrible acting, and it just drags on and on. I wasted 2 hours of my life watching this film, Anne Hathaway is going to have to do something amazing to win me back after this one.

I am amazed that a seasoned director, and so many moviegoers, can get caught up in this indulgent hipster nonsense. Glad I got it a free rental so I could guiltlessly skip ahead to the credits.
