Quick "Indiana Jones 4" Update: Shooting Begins in June!
by Scott Weinberg | January 02, 2007
Discuss Article
Just a few days ago we shared the news that George Lucas was (finally) happy with the "Indiana Jones 4" screenplay, and also that production was set to begin next year. Well now we have a small piece of updated news: Production on "Indy 4" will begin in June!

From The Hollywood Reporter: "After years spent in script development, a fourth installment of the famously successful franchise is set to begin production in June in locations around the world and in the U.S." (Full story here.)

The screenplay that everyone's so pleased with came from David Koepp, the man who wrote (or co-wrote) stuff like "War of the Worlds," "Spider-Man," "Panic Room," and "Jurassic Park."

As earlier reported, the flick will most likely hit screens in May of 2008. Bring it on!

despite the fact that Last Crusade sucked 18 years ago I am sure #4 is going to be the best movie ever.

With all of the MANY false starts the past ten years, I'll believe it when I hear a camera is actually rolling.

I'm not going to set might sights too high for this, but it'll be great fun just to see ford back in one of his greatest roles.

There simply must be a younger character
Is there really to be a romantic interest for 64 year old Indy? Allan Quatermain never got the girl, always his younger companions, but he was quite honestly jealous.

I think you were the one who sucked 18 years ago, because Last Crusade is the best of the franchise.

I just find it incredible that GEORGE LUCAS was the final ok on the script. Lucas? LUCAS!? As the past few years have proven, this man can't write for shit. His ok on the written word counts for nothing.

Only as old as you act
Why is everyone so quick to think this movie will suck just because Harrison Ford has gotten older? How old was Sean Connery when he made The Rock and he out actioned Nicholas Cage and a whole team of Navy Seals and Marines. Give these guys some credit. They made Alec Guinness into an action hero in Star Wars when he had to have been in his 70's and tell the truth who didn't want to be Obi Wan more than whiny azz Luke after the first movie.

Yes it does, since (unfortunately) he's the owner of the franchise. As for the rest of your post, I concur wholeheartedly.

Just an observation--but anyone who thinks Last Crusade was the best of the franchise did not see Raiders Of The Lost Ark in the theatre (1981) or werent born yet.

You know what the creators were saying back in 1989? That's it's good to go out on top, and that Harrison Ford is getting older, anyway, so it's good to stop now.
He was 46 then; he's 64 now! This is just too rich.

How rich is it?
Is it as rich as assuming a movie is going to be bad even before it's begun filming? especially when said movie is part of one of the greatest film franchises ever made? Is it that rich? How about is it as rich as assuming 2 guys who defined filmmaking for a generation and a third who has more blockbusters under his belt than anyone else in the world can't with 17 years to prep overcome something as simple as an aging lead to tell a complelling and action packed story? What besides the age factor are you basing your opinion off of? The last three films? yeah, cause they sucked and were giant box office failures. Previous projects these guys have collaborated on which turned out badly? Nope, cause there you've got some of the greatest films in history. Maybe it's a question of motivation? Maybe they're just doing it for the money, maybe they thought the previous films were just a bit to good and needed to be taken down a notch or maybe just maybe and this is the one I'd bet on if I was a betting man they were so desparate for your approval that they made this film just so you'd love them again. Sorry if I come off a bit harsh here, but this seriously baffles me. It's not like they can't use a stuntman and cut the film so you don't notice it's not Harrison Ford being dragged by the truck or driving the rail cart.

On another note, if I hear one more person draw the comparison to the last 3 Star Wars movies I'm going to scream. Ok, Lucas botched those a bit, but Indiana Jones is NOT Star Wars. He's not bringing up new actors in classic roles, it doesn't require 95% of the movie to be shot in green screen so the performances seem wooden and he's not going to be directing it which we know is not his strong suit. Plus, as I've already previously mentioned they do have a history of getting strong action performances out of aging stars. I could be completely wrong and this movie won't come off, but I think history and these guys track record makes it much more likely I'm right...and think about this if YOU are right, what do you win? It's kinda like being a Satanist. If you're right what do you win a reserved spot in the nice portion of Hell? but then again that's just one man's opinion. See you in the line for this film with the other 50 million of us who can't wait for this film to be fantastic.

Indiana Jones and the last box of Viagra
Well, there is only one thing to say, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas gave the script a thumbs up. Hope they direct, cause I am a fan of all movies with Spilberg's and Lucas's names in them. The long cold, waiting period begins. I'm probably going to fuck my girlfreind 625 times till the movie is released.Too much vagina....nahhhh!!

Romania entered the European Union
The title explains everything. Romania a eastern european country with 22 million souls, joined( as of January 1, 2007) the great European Union. Romania is a country of inimaginable beauty, corruption and public orgies. The girls are smoking, and they fuck the shit out of you on the first date. As a Romanian that now lives in the U.S it is safe to say that if you want to get laid with a ton of hot women, Romania is the place for you.

P.S Just wave around a dollar bill, you'll get blown instantly.
