The monster unconvincingly dons a rubber-suit and becomes more risible than frightening.

Ozus' World Movie Reviews

A terrible adaptation of a fantastic Clive Barker story from his Books of Blood. Despite the goofy mask the demon wears, Rex does have some teeth; it earns points for the Rex-urinating-on-willing-priest's-face scene.

I saw this when it first hit video, many moons ago. And you know what? I'm still giggling.

Audience Reviews for Rawhead Rex

Another bad adaptation of Clive Barker's story. Rawhead Rex looked like a man in a more elaborated ape suit. The acting was only OK... The excellent story became another "Creature Feature" But since it's a low budget film, it's actually not as bad as it could be potentially

I wish they would remake this movie! I understand that trying to watch this movie now might have the same effect as it did in the 80's but the plot was good Rawhead himself while not looking all that great was a true monster the scene where he took that kid outta of the car and ate him was wild for the time. i just hope someone takes a chance and reboots it.

Obviously this movie is really bad, but in the best way possible. If you're looking for some great laughs then Rawhead Rex should do the trick. The creature is so ridiculous looking that it's worth the watch just to witness that factor alone. By conventional horror means, if you're looking for a scare, then this one is NOT for you. However if you want an evening of horrid acting and non stop laughs, then Rawhead Rex is a perfect choice.
