Tony Church (Burt Reynolds) is a Chicago detective who loses his job when he is blamed for the deaths of his fellow officers gunned down in a botched drug bust. Minnelli's portrayal of a hooker is poorly written and difficult to accept, but everything else in the plot flows comfortably.

Burt's stache is in full effect, but so is Liza, unfortunately. The pain inflicted by watching this filmn is certainly not worth it. Just rent the Super Mario Brothers film instead.
