Blog Article | Discuss Article
Pop-star Ashanti will join zombie-killin' hotties Milla Jovovich and Sienna Guillory in "Resident Evil: Extinction," which the actress / singer refers to as the "trilogy finale."

From ComingSoon.net: "The official website for singer-actress Ashanti has revealed that she will appear in the "trilogy finale" Resident Evil: Extinction. The site does not reveal which role she will play in the Screen Gems film.

She'll join returning stars Milla Jovovich, Oded Fehr, Sienna Guillory, Mike Epps and Iain Glen in the movie, based on the popular video game franchise."

Ms. Ashanti has also appeared in "Coach Carter," "The Muppets' Wizard of Oz," and the upcoming "John Tucker Must Die."

She's been cast as a zombie... if she's not dead, at least her career as a non-singing starlet is...

Well, I enjoyed the Resident Evil flims myself. And, I think Ashanti will do well. As far as a zombie goes, do you guys really think she would sign up if that was a part she'd play? I have a feeling that she'll either be a brand new, kick-butt character like Alice and Rain were, or either they may change the race of Claire, and that's who she'd play. And, if the latter is true, I still won't be mad. Yes, she's a different race, but, yes, she's gorgeous and with a killer body. And, I can kinda see her as an african american goddess of Claire.

Enjoyed the first Resident Evil, but the second was just terrible. One of the worst movies in the year it came out. I truly wanted to like it too, but I won't be seeing this. Unless Sienna Guillory does something this time.

They can do far worse than hire Ashanti for this film. What bothers me is their seemingly devoted committment to telling laughably bad stories. I mean, come on! They made the Nemesis monster a friggin' side-kick (!) in the second running and we're complaining about Ashanti being cast in the third? You can't be serious.
