Magda (Constance Crawley) runs away to Paris where she meets Von Keller (Arthur Maude), a young nobleman from Germany, her country of birth. They have an affair, and she becomes pregnant. But before the baby is born, Von Keller's father dies, and he goes home to take over the family title. After much struggle, Magda becomes a famous singer and eventually winds up performing in Von Keller's home town.
