Movie Info

The relationship that develops between a lone-wolf marshal and the accused killer he is assigned to transport from Mexico to the U.S. as they brave the burning desert provides the basis of this well-wrought but largely unheralded western that contains strong psychological undertones. Their trek is to take four days and entails them crossing Indian territory and though dangerous, the lawman is determined to make the trip. Along the way, the captive and his captor talk with the former constantly looking for ways to destroy the latter's confidence. But still the marshal goes on. They then run across the remains of a massacre and find only one little girl left alive. They bring her along and afterwards, the Indians launch another attack that leaves the marshal seriously wounded. The crook in turn is left with a moral dilemma; should he flee and leave the girl and the injured lawman to die, or should he help them and face his crime?more
