Inspired by Jack Kerouac's "On the Road," Romanian-born radio commentator Andrei Codrescu takes a cross-country trip in a huge, 1968 red Cadillac convertible to discover all that is eccentric about America. In further homage to the Beats, Codrescu meets up with the poet Allen Ginsberg, who takes him to Walt Whitman's home in Camden, N.J., and later on visits the City Lights Bookstore in San Francisco.
