Rocky-Jonas, a countercultural wanderer, walks into a roadside service station owned by Mara, a lonely matron. She decides to let the man stay with her and her troubled daughter, Billie. Mara strongly believes Rocky is her long-lost son. The stranger agrees to play this role and discovers that Billie and Warren, an admirer of Mara's, also welcome him with open arms into their restful, if depressing home.
