Every time an actor belts out a hit, you're reminded that the original, however cheesy, was better.

Hit the nail on the head. The renditions in the movie are cringe worthy.

Well duh. That's like saying Across the Universe was a musical masterpiece. It CAN be cute, though. That's what makes flicks like this work.

I as just glad to be there with 2 people to laugh at how stupid it was because I was hurting inside for paying to see this cheese-fest.

What else were you to expect, other than a cheese fest?

You missed the mark..this was total fun...not meant to be perfection....very much summer fun and the vocalist.are great for the genre. Its suppose to be a spoof of the time...seriously...its not serious.

You are also reminded when you read comments like these, that there are critics who know nothing about the music scene, and focus more on hollywood madness in general...Richard Roeper, you truely are the Ex-Lax that I take at night when my stomach is churned due to bad hot dogs, and bad red rope licorice from a roadside stand out in the outskirts of nonsense.

Man, I'm once again reminded how great this movie really was. Thanks Richard.

ummm...have you actually heard any of the original music? The biggest problew with 80s Rock was that talent took a back seat to the ridiculous look of the "artists"
With few exceptions, the songs in this film were vastly superior to the original...fantastic singers
And the movie was pure freaking fun...
