Rambo Goes to Burma?

By now you're well aware that "Rocky Balboa" is primed to make another comeback, but good ol' Sylvester Stallone is still intent on resurrecting another '80s icon. Yep, it looks like "Rambo 4" will begin shooting later this year ... and he's going to Burma.

From Entertainment Weekly: "(F)inding Rambo a fresh foe was actually a serious problem for the Nu Image/ Millennium Films production. After ruling out the Mideast, Africa, and Korea, the actor finally hit on a solution. ''I called Soldier of Fortune magazine and said, 'What is the most critical man-doing-inhumanity-to-man situation right now in the world? Where is it?''' The answer was Burma.

So, the script that emerged — a ''first draft'' Stallone has written with Art Monterastelli ("The Hunted") — finds Rambo living a monastic lifestyle in Bangkok and salvaging old PT boats and tanks for scrap metal. (''It's like he's stripping himself down,'' says the actor, pensively. ''That old piece of military equipment.'') When a group of volunteers bringing supplies into Burma disappears, a relative of one of the missing missionaries begs Rambo to find them. He heads off with a team of young guns, a plot point required by the financiers, who wanted to hedge against Rambo's possible mono-generational appeal."

hehe... y'know, I'm probably going to have to at least rent this.
There's something about it that makes me feel nostalgic - more so than Rocky Balboa.

Disney's new Parent Trap: Rambo vs. Rocky
Both Rambo and Rocky started out as being great characters, but now they're both a little on the over-done side.

But that's okay, at least Sylvester Stallone can think up twice as many movie ideas than Chris Tucker can.

The first two Rambo films were badass! The third one was ok... It had it's moments. The new Rocky movie looks great. Hopefully it will be. I have hope for Rambo IV. Stallone may have made a lot of bad movies, but the Rambo's and Rocky's were his best series.

I loved all three Rambo films. I'm not sure which one I liked better, First Blood or First Blood Part II: Rambo. That's a tough choice. Rambo III was a bit of a letdown, but I still highly enjoyed it. Personally, they could put Rambo on the moon and I'd still see it. I can't wait for Rambo IV!!!
