Irwin Winkler Says "Rocky Balboa" Works
"Home of the Brave" director Irwin Winkler, who produced all of the Rocky movies, made a pretty convincing sales pitch for this holiday's Rocky Balboa. Though it may seem like a last gasp for an aging action star, Winkler promises a worthwhile film experience.

Some Guy Sees "Rocky 6" Early; Sends Email to AICN
Coming this Christmas to a theater near you is the fifth sequel to "Rocky." Some of you can't wait; some of you can't see the point. Either way, the movie geeks are pretty interested to see how the movie looks. Heck, it's gotta be better than "Rocky 5," right? MGM was nearly dead, but the company's just about to start distributing their own flicks again, and their first big entry will be ... "Rocky Balboa." And get this: They plan to release the movie on Dec. 22nd, in the middle of a rather crowded marketplace.

Sly Says Yo to "Poe"
It comes from Variety -- otherwise I probably wouldn't believe it: Sylvester Stallone will write and direct a biopic about legendary author, drug addict, poet, and madman Edgar Allan Poe. Sly's been sitting on his screenplay since 2002, but recently signed a deal with Nu Image/Millennium Films to get the project going.
