Sit back and enjoy a taste of mushy, sentimental, sugar-coated 113 minutes of cinema. I don't care that it was made during the Depression, it was still sugary sweet even for then. The acting was dreadful; the singing was shrill. The story was cute and flowed beautifully. Although, it is no oscar winning film.
