Let's expect the new version. Then we can decide which is better. But I always think the original version is better. LOL

You know HFGIII I think you're on to something:Remake The Muppet Movie with CGI instead of Muppets.WOO HOO!!!
Mar 5 - 08:37 PM
I will see it. I liked the original, but like The Omen, I prefer the remake. The original Omen was boring and I didn't, for one second believe that two actors (in their 50's and 60's) would have a child. The remake was great. Now, Rosemary's Baby was good, but slow paced and I wouldn't watch it again. I hope they cast someone like Nicole Kidman as the lead. She was hot and perfect for The Invasion. Or maybe someone younger like Rachel McAdams.

Lets see moviemaniack, The Omen has a 79% TM while the remake had 26% TM. The remake didn't make more money than the original which is 30 years older (wow, how sad is that?!) Hmm not too many people seem to agree that the remake was better.Plus:Lee Remick was 39 when the original was shot. WAAAAY too old to have baby right?btw. The Omen 666 was stupid and boring. Prize winner for most useless remake ever.

Oh, that box office is Omen 1976, 60 million (not adjusted for inflation) Omen 2006 54 million.Omen '76 is the winner by knockout.
Mar 6 - 01:15 AM
Okay, this is going to be bad, very bad, expect it to PG-13 as well.

I think Omen '76 was stupid and boring. Just because I was not around then does not mean that I cannot appreciate the quality of the film. I agree it is a superb film. But I much prefer the remake over it. I will never watch the original again. Same with The Amityville Horror, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, House of Wax, etc. When they start remaking films like Jaws, Cujo, and Alien is when I will freak out. Those are untouchable. Rosemary's Baby was bland a drawn out. Mia Farrow is great, but the movie was so-so. An update is necessary.

Written by RUST DOG, "It should be illegal to remake any movie that has been nominated for an Oscar." I agree. This just shows that Hollywood doesn't have original ideas from at least January to August. It's the Oscar contenders that don't come out until the Fall and Winter. 'Rosemary's Baby' should not be redone. Hollywood, let's do a phonemic awareness lesson...repeat after me..OH-RI-GI-NAL-I-T, now faster...originality...very good, I think you know how to do it.
Mar 6 - 01:34 PM
not again... they need to stop doing this .. they are just screwing up classics by doing this....

I THEY DO THIS IM GONNA EXPLODE
Mar 7 - 01:19 PM
Some remakes/revamps/etc. are good...aside from Batman Begins, I just can't think of any right now.
As for Rosemary's Baby, it took me two viewings to understand it, and two more to appreciate it. If you've only heard of the movie, and expect an all-out horrorfest, you're going to be disappointed. If you can understand the depth that Polanski put on the psychological terror of being a mother carrying an unholy seed, then the movie is creepy as hell.
Which is why I fear a remake because audiences today don't have the patience to watch a slow-paced, "under the skin" kind of scary movie. All of these horror remakes are so CGI and/or flash editing-dependent, the true nature of the classic horror films. See Halloween and the Omen. Classics...remakes-forgettable.
But I guess we shall see.

Why re-make a movie unless you can make a better movie than the original? This seems to be simple laziness. Find an original story and make a new movie instead of ruining a fine movie from the past. Finally, special effects cannot substitute for character development and plot.
