Lol. You're right that takes some swagger for Kazan has to cast herself as her boyfriend's dream girl. But to be fair when Calvin is talking to his therapist about her he does say she looks "average".

"Ruby fails to convince as either a real person or any man?s ideal vision of womanhood."
Disagree. "Manic Pixie Dream Girl" is a common trope. Ruby was a hella convincing manic pixie dream girl.
