WOW. A Great film. Compelling, gripping, and exciting both on and off the track "Rush" is a must see movie. Two great performances. Although both actors are outstanding Daniel Bruhl performance as Niki Lauda should nab him an Oscar nomination. Overall, a great script, great direction from Howard , fantastic race car photography and a great music score from Hans Zimmer make for a great film and one that should be seen. Get out and see it.

Agree, except I'd add Mud on Best Pictures as well.
For visual effects, STID and MOS are gonna make it. Thinking about Elysium making it.

Wolf of Wall Street is destined to be greatness. I'm rooting for Leo, I hope his performance is strong, enough to land him his first Oscar.

I would say with Rush, Ron Howard and Steve McQueen have the best chance of winning. Telling a story to which many people already know the answer and still make it thrilling is the kind of stuff academy voters like to see. I would say Alfonso Cuaron makes a strong case. But he is not going to win in my opinion.

I could see Cuaron wining for Director if McQueen doesn't win.

From what I've heard about Gravity, Alfonso Cuaron seems like an early favorite for best director.
