90 minutes of witless banter and dopey stereotypes.

Rush Hour is honestly a very entertaining movie, even if it's not as clever as other movies. The plot isn't exactly clever, but I can forgive it because action movies rarely have clever storylines. Besides, the characters are really entertaining, with Chris Tucker's comical one-liners and Jackie Chan's skill as an action movie star coming together to make an effective duo. On another note, the script is actually quite funny, but the movie itself maintains a fine balance between seriousness and humour. The film has a really good sense of style, but in this kind of movie, the most important thing is the action, and the action scenes are very well choreographed. There are a lot of these scenes in this movie, and these scenes are done so well that it doesn't get old. It may not be as serious as other cop movies, but it's pure entertainment, and that's satisfying by itself.

Very funny, with some cool stunts from Jackie, a unique partnership and simple but stimulating story to follow.

Martial arts was already in a buddy cop flick before, but this seem to use those moves in a best way of the genre. While Chan handled his usual department, both he and Tucker formed a good comedic duo while Tucker is like an acceptable, high-pitched (like some points of the film) Axel Foley (or Eddie Murphy). (B+)

Very interesting, although not necessarily original, with an occasional laugh or two.

A predictable and pleasant action movie with a dash of martial flavour.

Funny, but not hilarious. Rush Hour proves to be an overall success, despite occasional flaws in writing.

Rush Hour is an enjoyable buddy cop action film that spawned two other popular sequels due to the overload of fame the first had in 1998. And it deserves it, Chan and Tucker work well together, but some jokes fall flat and Tucker can be annoying. Like, really.
An arrogant LA cop, James Carter, teams up with a Hong Kong cop, Lee, to save the kidnapping and possible murder of a Chinese consul's young daughter. Along with a lot of silly scenes that mostly fall flat, there's a bunch of great action scenes with Chan that made the movie what it was for me.
Rush Hour's not perfect, but it's fun. Like I said, Chan and Tucker have chemistry and it's fun to see them do stuff together, but most jokes and silly stuff they do fall flat and Tucker obviously is written to be hilarious when at times he's just plain annoying. It's fun, though, and I'd suggest you check it out (the sequels, eh).

Classic! Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan together make one of the big screen's most iconic duo. Rush Hour has many funny moments, some kick-ass action scenes (bravo, Chan!), and great acting by the main stars! Though some things in this movie like the soundtrack may feel 90s, its got classy-ness. Chris Tucker has never been better as Detective Carter and Jackie Chan is plain-out awesome. Highly recommend renting!

Good chemistry between Chan and Tucker plus Brett Ratner's signature fast-paced action equals a hilarious buddy-cop film.

One of the best buddy cop films ever, Rush Hour is extremely entertaining. Chis Tucker and Jackie Chan share some great chemistry and the film is expertly paced. As always Jackie Chan delivers with great action sequences and humorous fight sequences with good choreography, as expected from him. Chris Tucker is funny as always as well. Rush Hour is definitely one of the best buddy-cop films out there with the perfectly casted lead duo, fun action scenes, comedy that works and fast pacing.

Wonderful film! Lots of laughs and action. These two have the best chemistry I have seen in a long time. Chris Tucker is hilarious, and Jackie Chan always entertains. This film delivers in every way.

Rush Hour is a relatively mediocre movie in every aspect but it's still oddly easy entertainment... The time truly does fly by when your watching it... The story however is average, the humor is quite routine, but despite the fact it isn't can't miss entertainment there is still some fun to be had!
