After the success of their live-action series SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH, ABC launched a cartoon spinoff aimed at the preteen set. SABRINA: THE ANIMATED SERIES served as a prequel to its parent show by presenting Sabrina (voiced by Emily Hart) as a sassy 12-year-old girl still coming to terms with her hereditary magical powers. The live-action show's star, Melissa Joan Hart (real-life older sister of Emily Hart), assumed the voices of Sabrina's witch aunts Hilda and Zelda, while Nick Bakay provided the voice of the wisecracking cat, Salem, on both series.
