Movie Info

For Edward 'Teddy' Brown, it's not just the end of Summer; it's the end of an era. In a desperate bid to wind back the clock and cling to his childhood dreams, Teddy leads his two best mates and their cowboy cricket club on an audacious tour of India, winning friends but losing matches all the way. Save Your Legs! is a wild rickshaw ride from the suburbs to the Subcontinent, where stumps fly, friendships fray and mates learn that the biggest shots in life are played off the field.

Fantastic, fabulously funny, feel-good Aussie comedy... a near-perfect blend of broad comedy and travelogue.

Doesn't rest on being a film just about sport. Whether you're familiar with cricket or not, the themes of camaraderie are strong and it's worth being a spectator

Cowell and Curry give endearing performances as man-boys who are forcefully and finally shoved out of adolescence and into adulthood at the ripe old age of thirty-five. As a lighthearted, nostalgia-drenched film, Save Your Legs! hits a six.

What seriously irks about Ocker cinema is that when movies aren't about 'kitchen sink' agonisers following the depressing plight of Croatian immigrants, they're, instead, painfully contrived, calculatedly 'feel-good' outings like this.

As a comedy that largely operates on a fish-out-of-water travelogue trajectory, predictably embracing that old chestnut about what Indian food can do to a white person's digestive system, Save Your Legs! struggles.

Tame Aussie bromantic comedy pushes no boundaries.

[Stephen Curry] manages to put a few runs on the board for the Aussie cricket flick Save Your Legs, elevating Boyd Hicklin's spritely if not particularly funny flick to the realm of 'watchable.'

Hits a six at every turn. The humour may be gentle, but it's always sharp. Tellingly, not a single gag falls flat. A wonderfully unexpected delight.

It's a comedy that relies on its semi-serious premise, written by the actor Brendan Cowell who also stars, and it helps if you are a cricket tragic

Cricket, enlightenment and embracing change are the themes for this slight Aussie comedy that is amiable enough with its bunch of rowdy, likeable characters, but just like what happens on the pitch, nothing really fires

Save Your Legs does little favours for either the sport of cricket or the country of Australia.

Steeped in a purely 'Strine larrikinism that clearly stems from screenwriter/co-star's Brendan Cowell's well-established on- and off-screen persona.

follows a group of middle-aged yet boyish outsiders on a tour of India - but instead of hitting this material for six, it gets caught on the sticky wicket of its cross-cultural caricatures, lowbrow non-laughs, uninvolving arcs and go-nowhere themes.
