Check Out the Nasty New "Saw 4" Poster

Movieweb has the very first piece of promotional material for this Halloween's "Saw 4," so check that out right here.

The fourth "Saw" movie is also the third one directed by Darren Lynn Bousman. New to the series are "Feast" writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan. According to this source, the cast includes Tobin Bell (obviously), Shawnee Smith, Lyriq Bent and Angus Macfadyen.

No more Dina Meyer though. Darnit.

It's weird...there are no body parts this time in the poster. I don't mind all these Saw movies and I enjoyed the last one...but how long can they keep up the story?

Didn't Jigsaw get killed in the last movie? Getting kind of ridiculous how elaborate this guy's schemes were from his deathbed...now we are supposed to believe he planned a whole movie's worth of new gags to happen after he is dead? Please..

this series doesn't have a plot. thats what impresses me about the marketing for these flicks. same as blair witch, you take a BAD product and sell it so well that people think this is a great horror flick. go rent 20 "horror" movies that WERE NOT released in theaters...and i bet 10 are better than the Saw ones. its just a bad overall series, no better than Are You Scared? or some other sh3t low budget horror movies

they need to just say, hey audience...we know you're stupid...but listen, we like the actor who plays Jiggy-Saw...so uh...this time, he'll play Jigs "twin brother". yeah, that sounds good...and uh...he'll be..."lost" somewhere, come back to meet his brother and be mad that he's dead, and take revenge on everybody else in the world. that way you don't have to worry about the sickness, the health issue...or every other plot hole. good? great! aaaaaaaaaaaaaand action!

The Saw movies are based around a great concept but are pathetically executed. I know these are supposed to be a sort of guilty pleasure, but they don't scare me at all. I just laugh at them. Horror movies rely on gore rather than fright way too often (Hostel is another offender).

The first Saw was brilliant, and created a mini-genre in horror that Hostel and Tourista are a part of. The second Saw, while not as good as the first, still had interesting and smart ideas and some good performances and scenes. The third film was crap, unoriginal, poorly executed, and outside the themes of the prior films (actually attempting to undo what was so brilliant in the first two). I also thought it would end the series, since they killed everybody off. I don't see how they can fix that, unless they pretend #3 didn't exist (like Halloween 3).

Seriously, the first one was not epic. It wasn't even good. The acting was horrible. The script was mediocre at best. How about the scene with Danny Glover and the asian cop finding the bad guys lair? Instead of freeing the hostage in the chair, they decide to hide to see what will happen. Are you freaking kidding me? That is stupid. But I guess the "genious" writers couldn't think of any other reason for letting the bad guy get away. These movies succeed for one reason; gore. People like to be grossed out. If you have a fetish on seeing people tortured, you might need help.

The first SAW had little in the way of gore.

Having differences of opinions is fine. Calling people morons for liking something is not acceptable. It's rude and childish. The beauty of our society is freedom of choice. If you don't like something, don't watch it. Don't call people that do morons. It shows a real lack of intelligence and actually makes you look dumber than the movies you are on here bashing.

I'm with you on this one, South_park300. I'm not obsessed with the gore part of it even though I'm a horror fan, but I've enjoyed the story and how it's unfolding. Yeah, there is a plot and sometimes it is flimsy, but to me it's still enjoyable. I'd debate more with the rest of you, but obviously we're morons for liking this series.

I never saw any of the Saw movies. I was excited for Saw because it looked like it would be an original horror movie (hey, I was 11 then). I figured that Saw's II and III would be pointless. If a 5th is released, I will give up all hope in the horror genre.

I remember being in class and someone gave away the ending to me ( which makes me lose interest if i know what is going to happen) and this was for SAWII, since then i rented saw 2 and havnt seen the third one yet.

Personally I enjoyed the saw movies ( that I have seen) and I think this series gets crapped on way too much. When the first SAW came out it was original, along with the others ( even though some say theres a decline in originality) but people take movies like these way to seriously when they look at the plot, dialogue, acting, etc. Its suppose to be about the twists in the end and the getting shivers and chills when someone knifes a guys stomach to get the key to the reverse bear trap off there head ( and we thought we had bad days..)

I plan on renting number 3 and seeing 4 in theatres , The SAW series is not parrt of my halloween tradition with my friends.

as for the poster, ya there is no body parts which is a bit of a let down cause it would be nice to see what new body part they were gonna use, but it does mean its different, which COULD ( its just a poster so may not) mean that the movie is new and fresh comapred to the other ones.
