No Tricks With Jigsaw's Fate In "Saw IV"...(Spoiler Alert)

The filmmakers behind "Saw IV" promise not to cheat the fans who stuck by the first three. Though their main killer, Jigsaw, perished at the end of "Saw III," actor Tobin Bell remains in "Saw IV." And producer Mark Burg promises that they're not pulling a soap opera twist.

"Here's what I'm going to tell everybody without ruining the movie," said Burg. "Tobin is dead. We don't jump the shark. It's not his twin brother. All these crazy ideas that I've heard, he's dead. All I will tell you is yes, he's dead and yes, he's in the movie."

Following the one a year release pattern of all the films, "Saw IV" will mark a Hollywood record. "There has never been a franchise that has done four in a row. Some of the Halloweens did three in a row but they never were able to do four in a row, and we wanted to do it."

But it's not just for bragging rights. "There is a lot of internal satisfaction amongst [director] Darren [Lynn Bousman], [producer] Oren [Koules], myself. And the people at Lionsgate that we pulled off a fourth movie which is suspenseful as heck, scary as heck and such a good storyline that we had to come up with a way of how to continue the franchise when everyone knows Jigsaw is dead. We had such a good idea that came actually to Oren, my partner. We were playing around with different storylines and he called me up and he goes, 'You're not going to believe what I saw.' And I was like, 'Oh my God.' We got so excited that it works."

fantastic... that makes me want to see it now and know what are they going to do with jigsaw and that crazy final. YES!!! saw is the best.

But can i ask something? when are they going to show us the movie poster????? its time to deliver it........ please... i hope it has body parts as the other ones.

It seems like the people behind the film are interested in seeing how many movies they can make per year than the actual quality of the film.

Could be a devil over the shoulder bit through one of those he instructed. A visual and auditory hallucination that presents him in more of a demonic context through a disciple who he had wrapped so tightly around his finger that it drove him crazy with anxiety creating the hallucination to begin with.

Either that or he really knew how to plan ahead with his tapes, no missed television shows for this guy.

The people who like Saw outnumber the people who don't? Have you seen the ratings? The box-office grossings? I don't know if you're looking at the same stats and figures I'm looking at. Saw IV is really unnecessary.

and last, they'll ALWAYS have the puppet in this series. always. its their gimmick, just like when they STOLE the sound for that laugh. its from an old Joker toy from the 80's. all the haters(me included!) still have to be impressed by their marketing genius. below average movie and they sell it like its water in the desert. my guess is...this will be the last year before it goes straight to dvd. marketing can only get you so far(ask the Blair Witch crew and their failed "trilogy"...haha). if you really hate it and wanna be a d3ck, just go see it and shout out whats going to happen in the scene. anybody with half a brain knows whats going to happen

No, YOU keep up. The poster that they revealed was not intended to be seen by the general public. It was only a poster that was supposed to be used as part of a dinner party for the filmmakers. The official poster has yet to be released.

Secondly, please explain to me why you hate the movie so much, yet can't seem to stop talking about it (as evidenced by your visiting this thread)? My feelings are, if you don't like it, fine. Let those who DO like it discuss as they will. No one said you had to be in love with the Saw series. That's fine. Each to their own. But being a fan myself, I just don't understand why I'm being made to feel guilty for something that I enjoy - especially considering that it IS just a movie, after all. If you would prefer to discuss another film that you're a fan of, that's fine. Go ahead. Even if it's not a film that I don't like, I won't get in anyone's face about it, because it's all a matter of personal taste.

Saw ain't shakespeare, but it keeps the masses content, so I'm ok with it. Not my bag really, but it seems to be a pretty phenomenal series for a lot of people.

As for the reappearance, I think it will be one of 3 things. Either the movie is a prequel, the movie has a ton of flashbacks, or jigsaw planned out a few more killings that could be carried out via video recordings and some help from disciples.

The original Saw was pretty good and Saw II surprised me by almost matching it. Number 3, however, just plain sucked. Even so, the saw series is better that most horror movies hitting the screens, especially Hostel. I still think these guys have some clever ideas up their sleeves (meat-grinding device thing, anyone?) so I wanna see what they come up with.

I won't go so far as to call the Saw series crap but I do think that it's highly overrated. Most of the money these films generate come from teens who love anything with moving pictures and pretty colors. They think the series is "clever" and "original" but most of all they love being grossed out -- the more gore the better the movie, right? Maybe it's just me but when I go see scary movies I like to be... I dunno. Scared? Saw isn't all that smart -- it just connects all the characters together in the end. Big whoop. Anyone can do that.

The Saw series has maintained solid integrity throughout the entire series. All three have featured great writing and storylines. Darren Lynn Bousman has proved a worthy successor to James Wan as a film director for this series. I keep reading all these negative posts yet none of these critics can identify one other horror franchise that is on the same level as Saw. Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween both collapsed by the third entry. Each Saw has furthered its predecessor. And by the way, All three Saw films have grossed extraordinary earnings both domestically and internationally. Lionsgate knows that the Saw series is very important and would not want to tarnish its artistic and financial success with some inferior direct-to-dvd quality sequel. All other horror franchises have failed by the third entry, Saw is proving to be the landmark horror franchise of ALL TIME. Box office receipts support my assertion.

Wrong. Saw collapsed halfway through its first entry. It has no artistic success. It's torture porn. And box office has nothing to do with quality of a movie.
