Shaq and Dr. Phil to Spoof "Saw" in "Scary Movie 4"
by Scott Weinberg | October 05, 2005
Discuss Article
ComingSoon.net reports news found on Entertainment Tonight and AnnaFaris.org, and it seems that the bizarre pairing of Shaquille O'Neal and Dr. Phil will contribute to the "Scary Movie 4" prologue, and they'll be lampooning the horror fan-favorite known as "Saw."

"It all takes place in this nasty, filthy bathroom [where] Shaq and I are chained up together," explains Dr. Phil, "and the way out is you've got to cut body parts off to get loose, so he and I are wondering which one of us will wind up doing it."

CS.net also has a trio of "Saw 2" TV spots, which you can access right here.

Hehehe I wanna see the movie! The Scary Movies are funny, but this one and the last one were not directed by the Wayans brothers.

The Zucker one (part 3) is the best of the 3 anyway, so I think this should be good. Though Saw does a good job of spoofing itself, so it's kind of like firing blanks at a corpse.

I'll see it just to see Shaq. That guy is so damn funny. Hes so big and goofy and he always talks in that monotone voice.

You are the first one I have ever heard who thinks the 3rd is the best. The first is by far the best

I agree. The third one was just terrible. The first one was the best, the second one was great when it came out, but now that I watch it now I've kinda outgrown the jokes and are somewhat disgusted by the immaturity of them lol. But it was good for its time.

The third one was just bad, I laughed only once, it was a good laugh though I'll admit

"I'm gonna need a ride home" Those who saw it know what I mean.

I'm 19 though so I might have just outgrown the target audience anyway

Should be Funny
Scary Movie 3 was pretty damn funny but it pales in comparison to the first which was hilarious. The second one was so awful! Dr Phil and Shaq is a odd pairing but should be funny.. and it is cool they are spoofying Saw because I like Saw.

If I had to rank them I would say

Scary Movie
Scary Movie 3
Scary Movie 2

But Scary Movie 2 me and my friends were saying take my strong hand almost as long as we said I'll do whatever I want, Gosh. Also when Handsome and Tobias from Arrested Devlopemnt got into the fight I'll get up and Walk away, perhaps you would like leg.

When Handsome was sitrring the tators I was laughing but ready to barf at the same time

I know what they could cut off...
Maybe they could cut off each other's mammoth egos... or Dr. Phil's tongue. Think of the irony... I guy who's only talent is giving useless advice on TV... with no tongue.

Scary Movie 1-2 both sucked. Scary Movie 3 had some pretty funny moments due to Zuckers genius, I just hope he's involved in 4.

Pota.
On the other hand, Pota, if you loathe Doctor Phil so much, you would enjoy him cutting off body parts, wouldn't you?

Anyway, I'd wish you guys would stop criticizing this film before release time. Because you have no idea who's involved yet other than Shaq and Dr. Phil. Oh yes, and Anna Faris. Anyway, yes, the first two weren't GREAT. Third one was grand, just grand. As SirXXXtmg said, Zucker's genius WAS the key to the great humor in the third movie. But it lacked. It lacked because of the PG-13 rating. The reason you need an R rating for this fourth movie is the following math equation:

R rating= Nastier, crude humor.
R rating + Zucker = A+

You really need the VERY crude, nasty humor to make an A or B+ movie. That, plus Zucker equals success. I'm waiting to hear if Zucker IS involved or not. Hopefully he is.

Sure I would love to see Dr Phil cut off body parts but I wouldnt spend $10.00 to do it. Having him and Shaq in a movie doesnt seem funny--It Just Seems WRONG!!!!

the first movie was funny because it was so fresh
The second movie sucked because it played just like the first
The third movie was alright but did not warrant a second viewing
the forth movie sounds alright and as long as anna faris is back, ill go see it.
