Minority Report was made in 2002 and had great effects. The Two Towers was made in 2002 and had great effects. Star Trek Nemesis, Attack of the Clones, The Time Machine, and Solaris were all made in 2002 and they had good effects.

Maybe you should learn to follow a story and pay less attention to the side stuff like CGI. CGI isn't everything. No wonder your favorite movies are the Transformers...
