Power plays Jimmy Sutton, a show-biz publicist on the prowl for a new actress to play a leading role in a big film. He discovers a Minnesota schoolteacher named Trudi, and convinces her to come to Hollywood for a screen test. Trudi wins the part, and an elated Jimmy decides to hype his find by cooking up a romance between the ingenue and her leading man, star Roger Maxwell -- much to the consternation of Roger's girlfriend . So Jimmy scales down his plan, and he himself writes "Roger's" love letters to Trudi. Then Trudi falls for Roger, and Jimmy falls for Trudi... and somehow the smitten publicist has to find a way to make everyone happy -- including himself. [More]
