Based on John Knowles's classic novel, A SEPARATE PEACE tells the story of two boys who discover the power of friendship during World War II. With the war raging abroad, Gene (J Barton) and Finny (Toby Moore) are studying at the distinguished Devon prep school in a special summer program designed to graduate young men before they are drafted. Assigned to room together, the boys are complete opposites. Gene is shy and studious, while Finny is outgoing, athletic, and impulsive. Before long,

PRETTY TO LOOK AT BUT A VERY SLOW MOVING STORY AND RATHER POINTLESS. THE CAST IS BARELY ADEQUATE. THE PERIOD DETAIL RATES FROM GOOD TO MIDDLING. I WAS JUST NOT DRAWN INTO ANY OF THE CHARACTERS.
