"Serenity" Doco Made Available for (Free!) Download
As a big fat fan of Joss Whedon's "Firefly" / "Serenity," I was definitely looking forward to seeing the fan-made, fan-lovin' documentary film "Done the Impossible," which aims to cover the entire history of Whedon's TV-to-multiplex adventure. And get this: The filmmakers have invited us to check out the movie ... for free!

"Serenity" Star Hears Sequel "Noise"
Nathan Fillion (aka Firefly Capt. Malcolm Reynolds) has signed on to star in Universal's upcoming sequel to "White Noise," and he'll be co-starring with another small-screen sci-fi star: "Battlestar Galactica's" Katee Sackhoff.

Wallace & Gromit are Big Cheese at the Weekend Box Office
DreamWorks' clay-mated "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit" snagged the #1 spot at the weekend box office with a decent haul of $16.1 million from over 3,600 theaters, handily bumping Jodie Foster's "Flightplan" (and its third weekend tally of $10.8 million) into second place.

Foster's "Flight" Tops "Serenity" Start
For the second weekend in a row, Jodie Foster's air-thriller "Flightplan" was #1 at the North American box office. The Disney flick made an estimated $15 million in its sophomore session, and its grand total now stands at $46.1 million. Debuting in second place, with a not-awful but coulda-(shoulda)-been-better tally of $10.1 was Joss Whedon's "Serenity."

Jodie's "Plan" -- Be #1 at the Weekend Box Office
Disney's airplane thriller "Flightplan" had little problem snagging the #1 spot at the weekend box office, but for the first time ever, two September releases managed to cross the $20 million mark in same frame. "Flightplan" hauled in an estimated $24.6 million, while Tim Burton's "The Corpse Bride" netted $20.1 million.

Serenity to Debut at Edinburgh Film Festival
"Serenity," the science-fiction/western /comedy/drama based on Joss Whedon's TV show "Firefly" -- which was cancelled mid-season but gained new life through fan interest and massive DVD sales -- will receive its official Gala Premiere Screening at the 59th Edinburgh International Film Festival on Monday, August 22nd, with a 'Reel Life' interview with Mr. Whedon the next day.

Serenity Comic to Bridge Gap Between TV and Screen

"Serenity" Screenings Sold Out
Advance screenings of the upcoming movie "Serenity" were announced last week, with ten showings in ten cities on May 5. Universal had an advertising campaign all ready to go but didn't need it as tickets sold out by the next morning. Some theater managers were even threatened by overly enthusiastic fans.
