Sex and the City Makes a "Big" Addition to Its Cast

Noth to reprise series role in the film.

Break out the Cosmopolitans, gang -- Variety is reporting that another piece of the Sex and the City movie's casting puzzle has fallen into place, and Chris Noth will officially be reprising his role as "Mr. Big" on the, uh, big screen.

Noth, who is currently starring in Law & Order: Criminal Intent, joins a Sex and the City cast that already includes Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon. Michael Patrick King will write and direct the film.

Not much is yet known about the movie, including a storyline, or whether series regulars such as Mario Cantone and John Corbett will appear.

i thought they were changing this to The Golden Girls movie...since thats what its going to look like if they finally make this. i loved the show when it first started but...it got sad. when you see old chics trying to be half their age? sad. like...a 50 year old white guy wearing a basketball jersey and sayin...waz up dawg. sad...

I think the writing on Sex and The City was intellegent enough that the dialogue always seemed appropiate for these characters. The show was not asking you to agree with their lifestyle(although the only thing that that truly made these characters "immature" was their choice not to take the traditional route of marriage most women their age would have already taken) but to enjoy viewing it. The only problem I had with their characters were them being extremely materialistic, and sometimes shallow. I'm sure plenty of wives (and husbands) fantasize about what it would be like to still live their lifestyle at that age.

And from ur last line it sounds like u never really watched the show-- these characters were very intellegent, ambitious women who did not take on the "ignorant speech" you've given them. The only times they would say lines like "waz up dawg" was an attempt on their part to be ironic--aware of their age and the innapropriateness of saying them.

Loved this show, but with all the characters hitched, I don't see how they can call it Sex and the City anymore, unless they have breakups.

"Sex in the City" is one of my all-time favorite television shows. Why? I agree with "KubrickIsG-d", it is the writing that sets it apart from other shows. I trust the writers are not going to lower their bar or standards just because they are doing a movie. I expect it to be even more insightful and intelligent as it looks at how relationships change once people are in their 40s. For the record, from what I hear, people in their 40's still have sex in the city. One more thing, as a married woman, yes, I do fantasize what it wouuld be like to still live their lifestyle at that age.
(This is very picky, but I do have a suggestion for "KubrickIsG-d". Your own intelligent and well-written thoughts are denigrated when you slip and use text message language like "ur" and "u." That's just my opinion.)

i didn't say the guy WAS ON THE SHOW, OR that the line was EVER on the show. i said watching chics act like that...was as sad as an old guy saying WAZ UP. keep up grandpa. i LOVED the show in the first few seasons but it got old, LIKE THE ACTRESSES. it got harder and harder to believe the same characters. they aged...but their characters really didn't. you seem the same type of person who loved the last seasons of Friends as well. "oh it was still good! the writing was great!". uh...no. to me, you could see the actresses going through the motions...the writing not as crisp, the show holding onto dear life. it didn't have the same feel, the same humor...the same EVERYTHING. it just got stale. get over it. i have ZERO issues with the characters and their lifestyles, i thought it was hilarious. i have the frikkin dvd's at home! but the actresses aged, the writing got worse...and it just didn't flow anymore. this movie WILL suck. sorry...but just because you're a die hard fan and delirious(like Friends fans)...doesn't mean the truth shouldn't be said

I got hooked on Sex and the City. It is a guilty pleasure for me since I'm a hetero male. But the writing is great. The show was always able to make me feel something, but usally that was hate for the Carrie character. Honestly, even though I love the show, I've never watched any other show where the main character's lack of morale value infuriated me so much.

I loved sex in the city! It was very distracting, funny, nothing to serious, perfect for a friday night and i'm excited to see this movie. Good luck to them!
