A very original and creepy horror film. Not a blood and gore movie but something more in the mold of a Val Lewton film in which the horror is suggested rather than shown. It is not one of the ubiquitous "found footage" movies but it does use a similar and quite original gimmick to promote the audience's suspension of disbelief. Good performances by a good cast in what was obviously not a big budget film. Well worth seeing.

It was an ok movie few jumps from me lived how he made himself the martyr by lying aboit the existance so that others wouldn't get hurt yet human curiosity is its own downfall

A blending of a traditional movie and supposedly "documentary footage", Shadow People tries to walk the weird line that The Fourth Kind walked before it, and this split aesthetic hampers it somewhat as it did with The Fourth Kind. Nevertheless, Shadow People manages to be a relatively engaging and sometimes creepy supernatural horror film that in many ways seems to mimic some of the Slender Man legends that argue that belief in the supernatural will cause it to happen to one. Not as great as it could have been, Shadow People starts dragging in the middle, but it is still an entertaining evening's worth of horror.

Three stars for a decent idea and lots of potential. Unfortunately, it falls sort of flat as the movie plays out. It could have been so much better.

Wether or not, you believe in the mythology of the shadow people, this film is intriguing. Who will be the next victim of SUNDS? Keep the door closed.

Dishonest trailer leads to disappointment.
Rather than a suspense driven horror story, this film is an awkward experience that tries to intersperse fake documentary footage with dramatic performances. I kept expecting Robert Stack from Unsolved Mysteries to start narrating.

Unfortunately, this distraction destoryed any sense of immersion in the film's story and left me feeling cheated by the trailer that seemed to promise more interesting characters and a slow-burn scary story of dread rather than a few cheap CGI thrills.

The trailer really makes this seem like a horror flick but going in to it, it felt more like a documentary in the form of a dark mystery. It was an interesting watch but do not expect to see something like The Frequency.

Predictable flick, and slow as molasses in January. Some serious flaws too, like you cannot exhume a body unless you are a relative or have their permission or have a court order. And you certainly can't take what you may find therein--it's called grave robbing. And the plot is ludicrous. Some people will swallow anything. The acting is also very poor. To say that this film was produced by the producers of Capote only shows how the mighty can fall.

I disagree with nearly every post here. This movie was a drawn out, uneventful stinker that plodded along in much the same way one would expect a concert hall performance for musak would play out. Even as background noise it was uninterestng. It doesn't even get ones hopes up, by a quarter of the way through you realize nothing could ever be allowed to happen in this movie for fear of breaking the carefully crafted spell of boredom. That said, the acting was not half bad half the time.

The actors give it their all. Theres a few jumps along the way. In the end however, pretty underwhelming.

this film is actually very creepy & docu-drama direction makes the theory more interesting & believable...

Enjoyable, interesting movie. Not what you might expect as its not a jumpy or scary movie, but definately a thought provoking watch.

Decent, solid not much here. The story was interesting and intriguing to hear about especially considering how it was based off true events. There were virtually no "scares" but that didn't undermine the movie at all at least for me. The script was so so was sometimes pretty bad sometimes good. So in general its a solid movie if you like horror you might want to see it but don't expect a masterpiece. It wasn't worth the $17 I spent to buy it at Best Buy, poor decision there but a decent good movie nonetheless.

"Shadow People" is told as if it were a true story. Interviews with actors playing the "real" people the movie is based on are interspersed throughout the movie along with along with footage of supposed experiments and other documentary footage. It's not a bad idea, but it's not very well executed. A lot of the "real world" details are so implausible that they give up the game right away. Since there's very little chance that anyone will buy this true story angle, these segments just serve to interrupt the flow of the story.

That's a pretty serious problem because there's precious little story to begin with. After Charlie becomes convinced that the shadow people are real, he does a lot of moping and talking on his radio show and not much else. That's the film's biggest problem. There's very little suspense and not a lot that could be considered frightening.

This movie is very creepy. Some people believe this stuff to be real. I just think it is a movie to make people scared of their own shadow. It will keep you awake at night. That is for sure.

A blend of movie and documentary which I found to be most irritating ... instead of simply creating a movie or a documentary... end of story...

An interesting psychological journey into the human imagination. While mixed with supposedly 'real' footage and re-enacted scenes, this movie has a way of sucking you into it's slow, suspenseful builds and very atmospheric nightmares! A great spin on supernatural folklore in the vein of "The Mothman Prophecies."

The "documentary" footage gets a bit annoying after a while but the rest of the movie is pretty good, def some creepy parts in the middle.

This movie was pretty decent considering the low budget look. Really creepy and I could definitely relate to some of the stories. So if you'd like a good scare, without the gore, shadow people is a great watch!!
