Shadow People (The Door) Reviews
Wether or not, you believe in the mythology of the shadow people, this film is intriguing. Who will be the next victim of SUNDS? Keep the door closed.
Rather than a suspense driven horror story, this film is an awkward experience that tries to intersperse fake documentary footage with dramatic performances. I kept expecting Robert Stack from Unsolved Mysteries to start narrating.
Unfortunately, this distraction destoryed any sense of immersion in the film's story and left me feeling cheated by the trailer that seemed to promise more interesting characters and a slow-burn scary story of dread rather than a few cheap CGI thrills.
That's a pretty serious problem because there's precious little story to begin with. After Charlie becomes convinced that the shadow people are real, he does a lot of moping and talking on his radio show and not much else. That's the film's biggest problem. There's very little suspense and not a lot that could be considered frightening.
