Critic Review - Chicago Reader

The movie has been running on shtick for so long that the attempt at drama rings hollow.

Forget the genre, just look at the movie poster, does it suggest a single drop of drama to you?

Wow, you people are bright. The reviewer is talking about the movie's third act and how it breaks the comedic tone pretty much.

Not really.... The movie remains funny for pretty much the entire movie, with either satirical humor, parodies, or cut and dry humor.

Examples from chronological order:
1) Messing with the zombie outside the Winchester
2) Shaun being oblivious to the zombie outbreak
3) Shaun and Ed with the "drunk zombie" and the Electro record/other records
4) The numerous plans they concocted...when Shaun was trying to save his mum
5) The pole with the tennis ball scene
6) Acting like zombies and Ed answering his cell phone
7) The group eating peanuts in the dark (reference to what Harry Potter said earlier in the film)
8) Queen-song and the Pool Cue scene in particular
9) Ed playing Timesplitters 2 in the shed

It's a Romantic Comedy/Action-Adventure/Horror-Science Fiction movie.
