Again, a great tale masterminded by Sherlock Holmes and the lovable Dr Watson. Excellent story as always. Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce are incredible on screen together and I keep getting lost in their adventures. What wonderful story yelling without the blood and gore they need nowadays to keep you sucked in. Total classic...never a waste of time...just a gold ole timing enjoying a perfect movie.

Holmes goes on to unravel a murder case, which involves possible suicide, a deadly, poisonous woman, and a whole lot of money that seems to be the main motive behind all her actions. With a bunch of witty dialogues, many laughable scenes (Holmes pretending to be a distinguished Indian officer is a masterpiece), and a thrilling climax, The Spider Woman is a must-see for every fan of the series.

Excellent Rathbone/Bruce adventure. Benefits greatly from the presence of Gale Sondergaard as the antagonist - a true match for Rathbone's Holmes. The plot moves in a rather predictable fashion, and Rathbone essentially does a blackface routine... but otherwise it's a lot of fun.
